“Why did you help me?” Jinny asked. “Did you follow me into town?”

The Alpha didn’t speak until they left the road and drifted off into the forest. “I don’t need you bringing me trouble.”

So he had followed her.

“I wouldn’t have gone, but none of us know how to hunt,” Jinny said, and she didn’t ask why the Alpha let them stay in his forest if he didn’t want them bringing him trouble.

“I noticed,” the Alpha said dryly. “I will teach you how to hunt.”
